Biocides and antimicrobials are regulated in Canada by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) branch of Health Canada.
All products that bear any type of antimicrobial or biocidal claim must obtain Regulatory Approval prior to distribution or sale in Canada.
All biocide products used in the manufacture of paper, including paper coatings, that may have direct or indirect food contact, require a No Objection letter from Health Canada’s Food Division.
